A dancer and a concert pianist pull up to your front door and present you with a five-minute dance accompanied by Beethoven's Waldstein Concerto played for you live on the back of a pick-up truck. Live performance and neighbourhoods: Visiting several places a night, it all takes place outdoors in the place of each host’s choosing. We've found Privilege at Home as good an experience at patio-restaurants and apartment towers as in private back yards, parks and back lanes! Well-suited to communities, gatherings of all sizes and events from modest to large scale.

Marisa Gold
She is an empathetic, multidisciplinary artist with a passion for all things soulful. With a BFA in Dance (SFU), a certificate of completion from The Ailey School Independent Study Program and The Graham School (intensive, 2017-18) in NYC, Marisa has trained in a wide variety of Modern Contemporary dance styles. Her professional experience ranges from modern contemporary concert dance to experimental and street style performance, musical theatre and film/TV roles. Marisa’s artistic influences are deeply rooted in the heart space of her ancestors. As a writer, mover, designer and performer, she continues her poetic wandering – delving further with love into the mystery of our collective humanity.

Rachel Kiyo Iwaasa
Hailed in the press as a “keyboard virtuoso and avant-gaarde muse” (Georgia Straight) with the “emotional intensity” to take a piece “from notes on a page to a stunning work of art” (Victoria Times Colonist) Rachel Kiyo Iwaasa is recognized among Canada’s foremost contemporary music pianists. Selected to close the ISCM Work NewMusic Days 2017 in Vancouver, Rachel has performed in the Netherlands, Germany, US and across Canada, with engagements including Muziekweek Gaudeamus, Music TORONTO, Music on Main, Vancouver New Music, Redshift, Western Front, Vancouver Symphony, Victoria Symphony, the Aventa Ensemble (Victoria), CONTACT contemporary music (Toronto), New Works Calgary, Groundswell New Music (Winnipeg) and Vancouver Pro Musica.
Rachel has commissioned or premiered works b y many of Canada’s most eminent composers, such as Hildegard Westerkamp, Rodney Sharman, Jocelyn Rachel has commissioned or premiered works by many of Canada’s most eminent composers, such as Hildegard Westerkamp, Rodney Sharman, Jocelyn Morlock, Nicole Lizée, Jordan Nobles, Jeffrey Ryan, Farshid Samandari, Marci Rabe, and Emily Doolittle. One half of the acclaimed contemporary flute/piano duo Tiresias with Mark Takeshi McGregor, Rachel has also collaborated with Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Judith Forst, Heather Pawsey, the Bozzini Quartet, Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw, and Richard Reed Parry of Arcade Fire. Her interdisciplinary adventures have led to work with photo-based artist SD Holman, playwright/director David Bloom, choreographer Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg, and multi-media provocateur Paul Wong. Rachel’s debut CD, Cosmophony, has been praised as “brilliant” and “unforgettable”(Vancouver Su n) and for “the passion, intensity and the nuanced playing she's acclaimed for… she manages to instill a sense of dynamic tension and pull to every note" (The Province). Rachel was a Co-founder of the Queer Arts Festival in Vancouver, recognized as one of the top 5 festivals of its kind worldwide.

Daisy Thompson
Daisy Thompson is an English settler now living in Vancouver on the unceded territories of the Skwxwú7mesh, Səl̓ílwətaɬ and xʷməθkwəy̓əm Nations. As a dance artist and writer, she seeks to extend ideas of the dancing body as a key site for the questioning of embodied power relations, and considers how the dancing body interrupts cycles of contemporary logics of control in relation to culture and identity. Daisy completed her training at the Laban Dance Centre (UK), and has had the fortune to work with Trisha Brown Dance Company (USA), Eva Karczag (Amsterdam), Emmalena Fredriksson (Sweden/Vancouver), Ugo Dehaes (Belgium), Lee, Su-Feh (Vancouver), Mascall Dance (Vancouver), O’dela Arts (Vancouver), The Frank Theatre Company, Ruby Slippers Theatre, amongst others. She has presented her own choreographic works internationally and locally, published several articles, and regularly teaches in a variety of spaces in Vancouver, including Simon Fraser University, Training Society of Vancouver, WeDance and Polymer Dance. She is a PhD student at Simon Fraser University, and a proud mother of 2 small children.
